The starting point of the Kunsthaus’s focus on sculpture and statuary art was its group of works by the Viennese sculptor Fritz Wotruba (1907–1975), who lived in exile in Zug with his Jewish wife Marian Fleck (1905–1951). Today, this focus area encompasses works by regional, national and international artists. Modern sculptures and statuary arts are just as much part of the collection as are installations and object-like, multimedia and architectural works, some of which are located around the Kunsthaus or out in the city of Zug itself.
